Bob Smith, with over 35 years of distinguished experience as a biopharmaceutical executive, joins the panel with a track record in driving commercial success, financial acumen, and operational excellence. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Global Gene Therapy Business at Pfizer, leading their global efforts in this innovative field and playing a pivotal role in managing early commercialization activities for gene therapy and rare diseases. Bob's extensive background includes diverse leadership roles within Pfizer, where he led business development, strategic transactions teams, and global R&D activities.
His expertise in alliance management was instrumental in securing successful partnerships across Pfizer's biopharmaceutical landscape. Prior to Pfizer, Bob held leadership positions at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, overseeing global M&A and licensing transactions. Beyond his corporate roles, Bob actively contributes to the industry's advancement, serving on the Boards of Directors for organizations such as the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine (ARM) and the Foundation for Cell and Gene Medicine (FCGM).
Bob holds a B.S. in Neuroscience and an M.B.A. in Finance and Corporate Accounting from the University of Rochester.
